Meet Alan Wildes

Alan views his role as a generosity coach to be one that empowers. He brings the knowledge, experience, listening and motivational skills needed to help others realize their goals. In the last 20+ years, he has led over 200 successful church generosity initiatives, applying his unique skills and insights as a layperson and coach to the training of God’s real life stewards.

Excited by his work in growing churches, Alan’s own faith and commitment is bolstered by the Generis approach to giving as a journey. Personal relationships are forged quickly, he says, due to the amount of time and energy he spends with each congregation he serves. In fact, Alan’s success and devotion have been heartily reciprocated by his clients, who have engaged him to lead multiple subsequent initiatives. His clients praise his methods of motivating others to see generosity as a lifestyle; not a short-term monetary obligation.

A social studies teacher and baseball coach for eight years prior to joining Generis, Alan earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and his Master of Science in Education from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.

Alan and Pam met at UNCP and have been married for over 30 years. He has a son, Jackson, and a daughter, Anabelle. Alan and his family attend Northbrook UMC in Roswell, GA. Alan enjoys all things baseball.

SERVICES

No matter the size of your God-inspired dreams, it can be daunting to think about chasing down the necessary resources. The truth is that while vision almost always exceeds current realities, the means to support your vision is within your grasp.

With Generis, you’re not alone. Our customized Campaign approach will help you assess, rethink and reframe your current reality, allowing you to reach your specific goals while also establishing a foundation for increased generosity overall.

Let’s be honest; there are times when one-on-one guidance, encouragement and accountability brings out the best in us and accelerates our ability to chase down those big, audacious dreams. The Generis Coaching experience is designed to align with your greatest needs and is delivered over a period of time that makes the most sense for you.

From time to time, it can be extremely helpful to analyze the habits of your overall giving climate to see what is currently working as well as where opportunities for a culture of generosity to increase might exist.

The Generosity Assessment is a one-day experience that provides a thorough assessment of your church’s effectiveness and reveals new opportunities for creating a culture of generosity. Think of it like an x-ray into the giving perspective of the church.

Funding your God-inspired vision requires more than financial acumen. It depends on the continual spiritual growth of your church body. The Operating Budget Campaign approach weaves both together in a seamless and transformational way.

How it works:

  • Clearly communicate the vision of the church, teach generosity, and receive Estimates of Giving before setting the following year’s budget.
  • Financial generosity and generosity of time and talents should not be mixed.
  • Open dialogue about money and possessions without apologizing.
