About Danny Stokes

Danny Stokes is a pastor and generosity coach who is committed to helping churches thrive through healthy stewardship and financial discipleship. He brings more than thirty years of ministry experience, along with a genuine desire to serve pastors and congregations as they pursue God’s vision for their church.

Danny has been part of Cross Timbers Church since 2000, where he has served in a variety of leadership roles. He helped build the student ministry, supported the launch of new campuses, and later served as Operations Pastor overseeing finance, HR, IT, and facilities. As a member of the senior leadership team, Danny played a key role in guiding church initiatives and encouraging staff and volunteers. His heart for helping people experience financial freedom led him to create and lead Cross Timbers’ Financial Freedom Ministry, where he developed classes, coaching pathways, and events focused on generosity, stewardship, and practical financial wisdom.

Danny has also partnered with churches across the country through his work with MortarStone, Generous Church, and Compass Texas. He has coached leaders on interpreting giving trends, facilitated generosity and stewardship experiences, and helped churches create clear and sustainable strategies. Danny is known for his relational approach, his steady leadership, and his ability to make complex financial concepts both accessible and meaningful for church teams.

Danny and his family live in Lantana, Texas. When he is not serving churches, he enjoys trail running, fishing, golfing, and training for triathlons. He approaches every area of life with a spirit of perseverance and a sincere love for helping people grow in their faith and generosity.

Succession is the intentional transition of power, authority and responsibility from one primary leader to another.
