About John Sullivan

John specializes in people, leadership, and organizational health. His professional work spans more than 21 years of executive leadership in church, PK-12 school, non-profit, higher education, and start-up enterprise. He is an innovative leader in advancement, vision and executive leadership, operations, finance, and communication.

In his career, he has doubled enrollment, cast God-sized vision, erased decades-old debt, written policy, raised hundreds of millions of dollars for organizational growth, coached boards of directors, and partnered with nonprofit and community leaders all over the United States. He holds a doctorate degree in organizational leadership from Vanderbilt University and two degrees from Harding University: a master’s degree in professional counseling and a B.A. in ministry.

John lives on a small farm in Fairview, Tennessee with his wife Brittany and their daughter. When he’s not helping organizations, he’s probably wading a stream for brown or rainbow trout or training his English setter puppies, Dottie and Ruby, for upland bird hunting.

Memorial Church of Christ of Houston, Preaching Minister
"Generis gave us a realistic view of the financial and spiritual potential of our congregation. Some of our folks wanted to shoot too high and others didn’t want to shoot at all. Generis have us a healthy evaluation as to where our heart was for our project."
  • Josh McCarty

    St. Leo Catholic Church, Reverend
"John Sullivan has also demonstrated a remarkable capacity to contribute to the Catholic mission in our parish and Newman Center. His expertise and dedication to fostering positive discussions and providing consultative guidance have been invaluable. His involvement in our work has already benefited our community and furthered our mission."
