About Sherri Adams

Sherri Adams is passionate about the local church. She has served over 20 years on the executive staff at Christ Church, a large multisite church in the western suburbs of Chicago. While there she led the largest generosity initiative in the church’s 50 year history. Sherri has seen firsthand how God transforms lives and uses the body of believers to fund God-sized vision.

Sherri began her career as a tax consultant for Price Waterhouse. She launched a workplace ministry before being tapped by the church’s Board of Trustees to build and lead the Human Resources department at the church. Sherri then stepped into the newly created role of Executive Director of Stewardship and Generosity when the church was looking to find a leader to build a culture of generosity as well as lead a $49 million-dollar two-year generosity initiative.

Sherri holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, a Certified Public Accountant license, and an Executive Certification in Religious Fundraising (ECRF). Her strong financial background coupled with her two decades of executive leadership on a church staff have positioned her well to lead churches with unique nuances and astute leadership. You will find Sherri to have an engaging and warm personality and a commitment to excellence in all that she does.

Sherri lives in the Chicagoland area and has been married to her husband, John, for 30 years. They have three adult children. She loves to travel and explore new places, go on short runs, attend pilates classes, and spend time with family and friends.

    Liberty Bible Church, Lead Pastor
"Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” - which means to talk about our treasure is to talk about our hearts. Generis led us by engaging our people’s hearts and their journey as disciples of Jesus. Once our hearts are engaged, then we are ready to engage more faithfully with our treasures. Generis understood this, and led our church to engage the hearts of our people well, which opened the door for a brand new conversation about our treasure."
